Job Summary

The incumbent will oversee all aspects of procurement, including sourcing, purchasing, and logistics for designated vessels and projects, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process requisitions in accordance with established company procedures.
  • Monitor vessel schedules and provide timely updates on requisition statuses and delivery progress to relevant stakeholders.
  • Engage with vendors to obtain detailed product or service information, including pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
  • Review purchase orders, requisitions, and quotations for accuracy, compliance, and applicability.
  • Research and evaluate suppliers, review bid proposals, negotiate contracts within authorized scope, and execute agreements.
  • Identify the most cost-effective supply options across various ports, considering urgency and optimal delivery locations for spare parts.
  • Track orders to ensure timely delivery and cost management.
  • Coordinate with logistics teams to facilitate on-time receipt and dispatch of shipments, including transportation and storage arrangements.
  • Follow up with vessels post-delivery for confirmation and address any discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Verify invoices and resolve discrepancies prior to payment processing.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Purchasing Manager.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multitask efficiently and accurately.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure both independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective negotiation capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Creative thinking and proactive issue resolution.
  • Adaptability to evolving operational requirements.

 

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is preferred and advantageous.
