7: Affordable & Clean Energy
SMT heartily supports the use of cleaner energy sources wherever possible. Examples of this include solar energy in our offices and the use of cleaner shore-based electric power while our vessels are in port. In keeping with IMO 2020 guidelines, all SMT vessels are powered with low sulphur marine fuel, and many of our vessels are restricted to fuel containing 0.1% sulphur which exceeds IMO 2020 mandates.
