SMT’s crew change crisis in West Africa
Due to travel lockdowns in both Guinea and Ghana, SMT’s recent crew changes in both Guinea and Ghana required complicated logistical solutions. SMT chartered aircraft to fly on-signers and off-signers from Europe to West Africa. As the plane could land directly in Accra, the remaining crew change in Ghana went smoothly. Yet Guinea was completely locked down, so the plane landed in neighboring Cape Verde and the crew change was conducted at a designated mid-ocean rendezvous point! All operations were performed with complete success.
